A two storey extension is made more palatable to the planners by being conceived as a double height bay window, such as might be found in an artist’s studio of this era.

The apartment is large with a deep plan. To maximise daylight the living room extends back from steel framed fully glazed windows into an open plan space.

The kitchen is arranged along the back wall, with polished stainless steel on the island and inset splashback to reflect the daylight and views of the garden.

Heated polished concrete screed floors throughout, with strong colours in bathroom tiles.

The lightwell entry from the front path has been opened up with a built in planter for a shade loving acer tree.
